HEMPEL Saudi Arabia is partially owned by the Danish group, HEMPEL's Marine Paints A/S. The HEMPEL Group was founded in July 1915 by Mr. J.C. Hempel, initially as an import-export company trading in chemicals. By 1917 the first factory producing marine coatings had been established. Over the years, growth was rapid and by 1939 the group was truly international with seven factories and 27 agents handling HEMPEL products around the world. Today, the HEMPEL Group has, including subsidiary and associate companies, 25 factories and over 150 main stock points around the world.
